Yves Terrace in Kagurazaka specializes in French-style rotisserie chicken—and their birds are widely regarded as the best in town. But chicken is just part of the story. The restaurant also serves authentic French dishes (terrine, escargot, stewed hare), to be savored amid a tasteful wooden interior or out on the red brick terrace.
Owner-chef Yves Ephoevi-Ga, who lived in Brussels, Paris and Lyon before arriving in Tokyo in 1989 as chef of the Belgian Embassy, is renowned for his hospitality. He went on to work in a variety of local French restaurants before realizing his dream of opening his own eatery. Since then, Yves has launched a second branch, Oncle Yves in Kojimachi, which serves fast food-style French cuisine at lunch, and at night transforms into an atmospheric wine bar.
Both restaurants are offering a delightful French-style Christmas from December 23-26. The wide-ranging holiday menu lets diners choose from a number of options for each course: amuse, starter, soup, main dish, and dessert. And the prices can’t be beat: lunch is just ¥850-¥1,800, and dinner is ¥4,300. A vegetarian menu is available for just ¥3,500. Needless to say, reservations are required.
Parties are also welcome, with plans starting from just ¥1,500/person (minimum ten people). Or, if you’d rather dine in the comfort of your own home during the holidays, Yves Terrace offers takeout rotisserie chicken, turkey, pork, leg of lamb (boned or boneless) and more.
